MO3: Demi, Breaking!
Monthly Newsletter - May
Hello - and welcome to another monthly edition of the Newsletter!
Just at the nick of time. It is still May, so it counts as delivered on time :)
And it was a busy month.
Chapter Illustrations for Parallel Curses Vol. 1
In this house, art is not AI. My wish is that the globe-trotting series connects not only geographies of the Parallel Earth, but also people and human creations around the real world. Artificial Intelligence cannot do that.

Here is a tiny teeny sneak peek of what I am trying to deliver in the first volume: a mix of story and new illustrations, choosing B&W colors to set the tone for the series through Chapter Intro illustrations. The works above are only small parts of what will be inside the volume (and I am trying to keep the full pictures a surprise!) - and are only three of the fifteen chapters!
I have to admit I was very lucky to meet artists like Pantelis Politakos, a Greek illustrator whose work speaks for itself, Doan Trang L., a Vietnamese illustrator whose black-and-white sketches fit the grey world of the Curses since day one, and our own Substack sensation from the US, Ira Robinson.
Are you an aspiring illustrator who likes all things cursed, creates digital illustrations, and would love to join the project? Reach out in my DMs to discuss!
Bending but Never Broken - A three-part story to propel Demi’s Story forward
Demi’s story starts as a mission across borders and ends in mayhem. But her role and connection to the other characters will be central: she is carrying with her what will turn that side of the world upside down. And while it will be a while until she figures out what threatens her part of the Earth, these three chapters bring new characters and revelations.

Heading into Summer
Significant rewrites of Khalida’s and Nisy’s story earlier this month have added new content in the earlier chapters, pushing me to unpublish some of their most recent episodes. Expect these to drop again in June! And if you want to check how things have changed, join in their stories from the Arc I chapters below:

That's so cool that those artists are creating illustrations for the stories! I'm excited to read through the chapters. 💫
